What is PBIS?
PBIS stands for Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports. Every school in Albany is on the path to implementing PBIS as a school-wide behavior program. This means that all schools, including Eagle Point, are setting an expectation for all students to demonstrate Respect, Responsibility, and Safety. These three expectations are the foundation of PBIS. At Eagle Point, PBIS involves ClassDojo. See the ClassDojo letter below for more information. I also use class dojo to communicate pictures, messages, and homework assignments.
RESPECT
I respect others by listening to their opinions, being courteous, helping others to feel good about themselves, treating others fairly, and keeping my hands and feet to myself.
I avoid disrespectful behavior, such as: disrupting others, talking when another person is talking, talking in inappropriate places, or making another person feel badly about themselves.
RESPONSIBILITY
I am responsible for my education, realizing that I am at school to learn, completing my homework nightly, being responsible for my belongings, leaving personal belongings at home, following directions, and trying my best.
I am responsible for my attitude by being a team player, displaying good sportsmanship, and eagerly learning.
SAFETY
I am responsible for my actions, following the rules in every situation, recognizing that all actions have consequences, and demonstrating appropriate behavior in all areas of the school building and in various circumstances.
I am respectful of my surroundings and keep our environment clean and safe by cleaning up after myself and returning things to their proper place in the condition in which I found them.
